Victor Gama instruments put to the test
Edinburgh school children get their hands on four unique
instruments destined for the new galleries.
One of the highlights of the new Performance and Lives gallery
will be the unveiling of four distinctive contemporary instruments,
specially created for the Museum by Portuguese artist and musician
Victor Gama. Not only will the four instruments provide a
fascinating, intriguing focal point for the gallery, but visitors
will also get the chance to try them out and combine their unique
sounds.
However, school children from Edinburgh will get a sneak preview
of the instruments, as they’re given an exciting opportunity to
test them out this week in advance of the gallery opening.
Jane Miller, Access and Outreach Officer at National Museums
Scotland, explains: “This is a great chance for P7 pupils from
Craigroyston Primary School to go behind the scenes and tell us
what they think of some of the interactives being created for the
new galleries.”
